Observations On Ohio

An Easton Evening that was lovely. You cannot but be excited about the holidays when you come here. Smith & Wollensky's for dinner was superb. Can I say it rivaled Mitchell's? Easy. Oh yah. Stag's Leap Artemis Cabernet Sauvignon, and Marvin Gaye. (He he he. Oh I am funny.)

There are alot of things that make me feel like I am back in Sweden. Semis on the freeway. Alot of them. At all times. Two lane undulating country roads. Love driving on them. Have been doing a bit of that. Naked and dismal trees framing the freeway on the way to work. And rivers. Real rivers. Not to mention snow.

It is so incredibly difficult to keep track of time with no windows in the FC (same observation as last year); you always work, always read e-mail, no matter where you are, always think about work, your sleep schedule is completely fucked up for a multitude of reasons; jetlag, stress, etc...Yet, in all of this, there was time for KNITTING. Hell yeah. OSU Buckeye socks for co-worker; non-snobby Encore in red and grey, sz 6 dpns, and they are SPEEDY! Because cool co-worker went to the KNITTING STORE BY HIMSELF. Got alot of the Encore, but also some Alpaca Sox by Crystal Elite. He really wanted these socks. Deadline? Oh yeah, must be done before the BCS Championship game in early January.

Cast on 48 stitches, ribbing for as long as you care (he likes short socks), heel flap heel (is there any other way to go??) with half the stitches in contrasting color, make it as long as needed, (slip first stitch on each row, pick up 12 stitches on each side, back to gray, work gusset, then fitting session to see how long you need to go. Easy.

Best of all? No more bitching about German Village. Finally got to go. Some people are happy about that one. Food was excellent, and so was the beer. Had the best prank played on me as well. Well deserved.
